7:42 PM
Her kitchen is flooding. She calls you.
Water is spreading across the floor. She found you on Google, you've got great reviews, and she dials. It rings. And rings. Voicemail.
7:42 PM, across town
You're under someone else's sink, doing great work.
Hands full, wrench in one, flashlight in the other. Your phone buzzes in your pocket. You'll call back when you're done.
7:46 PM
Four minutes later, she's calling the next plumber.
He picks up. He's there by 8:30. She's relieved, she leaves him a five-star review, and he's the one she'll call next time.
8:15 PM
You call back. "Never mind, someone's already here."
The job is gone. So is the review, and the next three jobs from that house. You never even knew you lost it.
